Theater Rotterdam

It consists of ten different roof sections, part of which has been transformed into a green roof while another part is fitted with solar panels. The modifications to the rainwater drainage system, both above and below the roof, are also part of our scope of work. In addition, the existing fall protection system has been adjusted, and where necessary, parts have been replaced or expanded to meet current safety standards.

From an aesthetic point of view, we had to comply with the color requirements for the theater hall’s roofing material, as well as the restriction that the new roof could not exceed the original height. Because of the higher insulation standards, the roofing system became considerably thicker. By installing a gutter all around at exactly the right height, we managed to solve this challenge successfully.
